Times: 9 AM – 3 PM
A week-long project-based course in English that teaches digital communication skills in the context of the professional web design and development process using current industry software. Students will develop static and dynamic web sites using HTML and Cascading Style Sheets (CSS). This course will also involve a study of Android App development using MIT’s App Inventor 2 platform. Some of the topics will include leveraging developmental tools used in location apps, gaming, storing, retrieving, and manipulating data. Students will test their apps on an Android tablet or phone. By the end of the course students will be able to acquire foundational skills required for Web Design & Development as well as Mobile App Development for Android devices.
For students without previous computer knowledge, basic computer operational skills will be taught. Prerequisites: Basic Knowledge of English and Gmail account. No prior coding skills are necessary.
